For those of you who made it to church last Sunday morning you would have heard the talk at the beginning of our new series about ‘How we change’. If you would like to listen to the talk follow this link. http://emmanuelbicester.org.uk/mediaplayer/2628/2018-02-25?popout=1

Many of the themes in this sermon relate to a church meeting held at ECB a couple of weeks ago when the PCC, staff team, ECB team leaders and a few others gathered together to listen, talk and pray. From this time three key areas have been identified that we need to work on.
1) Prayer
2) Communication
3) Pastoral care

Prayer. We need to expand and develop both our personal and corporate prayer lives. We have a range of weekly prayer meetings that are open to everyone, if you like to be part of one do please get in touch. On Saturday 24th March at 7.30pm we will be having a whole church prayer meeting. This will include prayer, worship and a time of listening to God. Do please put aside time to be alone with our Heavenly Father. Matthew 6:6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.

As for communication– good communication is always something that we have struggled with at ECB. But that is no reason to stop trying to get better at it. I include below some of the key events coming up over the next few months.

Sunday 4th - 7pm Scott Dalton preaching at evening service
Friday 30th - 10am Good Friday prayer stations
Saturday 31st - 4pm Easter family event and egg hunt

Pastoral care

Again this is an area that needs improvement. We are focusing this year on developing our (IN) direction, this includes teaching, discipleship and pastoral care. We are working on a pastoral survey that should be available next month. And we plan to gather together all those with a heart and vision for pastoral care, if you would like to be part of that do please let me know.
