We can all relax—the sun has come at last. Talking of relaxing, many will sigh and wish that life would slow down…..and give us more time….to relax. Modern life is one of leads, plugs and agitation. Or at least it seems that way sometimes.

Have you ever noticed how when God has something he wants us to learn, something he wants to sink deep into our being ,he keeps bringing it up in various ways. A gift of a book, a Bible verse springing out vividly from the page, a sermon perhaps, or an experience which can impact us with new truths.
Last week Scott Dalton spoke about Peter stepping out of the boat and onto the water. His talk left me with several questions about stepping into something that is new, stepping into something that is unknown, and stepping out in Faith.
Following Ian's recent talks on lanes and comparing lanes, this last weekend has been a good metaphor in my own life on many levels.
In last week’s newsletter John Williams wrote about the Ascension of Christ and the outworking of that in the life of all Christians. As we prepare to celebrate Pentecost this Sunday, I would like to consider that time of waiting between Ascension and Pentecost.
Have we missed it?
One of the most significant events in the life of Jesus is the ascension, it took place forty days after the resurrection c.f. Acts 1.3, which this year would be celebrated last Thursday.
